Bettendorf Senior is seeing football from both sides now. The all-state linebacker reached paydirt twice as a tailback in the Bulldogs' Class 4A Semi-Final win over Cedar Falls. As the eleven and one Bulldogs prepare for unbeaten West Des Moines Valley in the title game Shaw draws from his faith in Christ to play the complete game in both football and life. 11/14/11

Softball and Geneseo and Illowa FCA will take it to the 'Great Indoors!' GHS Softball coach Bob Pettit purchased the old Geneseo Public Library and is turning a double play with the help of his friends. Not only will the building on State Street help softball players take their swings, but FCA will also bring it's ministry to the facility. Work is underway to convert the building from a place to check out books to a place to check in with a focus on Jesus Christ. 11/11/11


Tom Schmulbach leaves plenty of football footprints as he retires from coaching football at Augustana College. Currently the Vikings offensive line coach his legacy includes a five years as head coach. Of course, he was a key member of legendary coach Bob Reade's staff which directed the Vikings to four consecutive national championships. His life journey goes hand-in-hand with football and it's people. 11/10/11


The Sterling Newman Comets hold off Orion 47-36 in an IHSA 2A Football Second Round Game. The defending state champs take on conference rival Morrison in the Quarterfinals. 11/05/11

The Erie-Prophetstown Boys Cross Country Coop is statebound for the finals on saturday, November 5. The Panthers head to Peoria unified despite attending competing schools. All eleven team members are involved in Fellowship of Christian Athletes. 11/04/11


The Monmouth College Football season closes out the regular seasson saturday against arch-rival Knox. Steve Bell's Scots bring an eight and one record into the contest, but the season will live on after saturday's matchup. 11/02/11


The Riverdale Rams Volleyball team advanced to the Class 2A Sectional Championship with a hardfought win over Mendota. 11/01/11
